Daddy's Home - Travis Greene

It is a privilege to have a Father, one who cares for the family. There are many advantages of having a Father and not just having a Father but having a healthy relationship with him.

Using myself as a case study, I have a healthy relationship with my Father hence I can ask him anything freely knowing fully well that the only condition I won't get what I want is only when he doesn't have it and sometimes when I have done something wrong, which makes me uncomfortable to ask him  but I am sure if I ask I will definitely get it.

As I thought about how loving and caring my Father is, I remembered that after I accepted Jesus into my life God received me as his child, hence God is my Father and I feel so blessed and privileged to have the creator of the world, the all powerful and mighty God as my Daddy.

Just imagine the one who has loved us with an everlasting love being your Daddy, isn't that amazing. Each time I picture this I just want to scream, what a privilege. What this implies is that I can come to him and ask him anything, tell him my concerns and fears knowing that he will certainly attend to me and that he has no limitations like my earthly Dad, isn't that Good news.

According to Matthew chapter seven verse seven to eleven, God's word explains the reasons why we don't receive and that's because we don't ask, he went further to describe how earthly Fathers despite being humans and having the ability to disappoint give their children what they ask for, he was trying to say paraphrased, "As perfect as I am, do you think I can't give you anything when you ask, I am super reliable and my love is without measure, so stay calm because I am your Daddy" wow, for me this is the most amazing thing I have heard today.

But here is the thing, as I wrote earlier I identified that not having a healthy relationship with your Daddy can hinder you from getting the things you want not because your Daddy don't want you to have it but because you won't even have enough confidence to ask him. So it is with God, sometimes we are the cause of our needs and want not being given because we didn't ask and we didn't because we felt he was angry at us and won't hear us. But praise to Jesus, our God is filled with so much mercy and he always have us in his heart.

So today decide to accept God as your Daddy by receiving Jesus into your life and build a healthy relationship with him, then you can freely ask and receive all you ask for.
