Scar - a permanent mark on the skin sometimes caused by the healing of a wound.

Sometime in 2015, not long after I finished secondary school, I was at home as usual cooking. It was a two burner cooker, in the process of trying to add an ingredient in the pot, the lid of the other shifted causing the steam to burn my hand. 

That experience can never be forgotten, it was so terrible and painful that's when I learnt how dangerous steam especially from a cooking pot was.

About five years later, I looked at my hand and the scar was still there and glaring, this made me realize the scar served as a reminder that I should always be careful with hot things especially steam and it also reminded  me that I had healed from that experience.

In our lives, scars are not there to cause us pains, hurt, anger or regrets, it is actually there to teach us lessons and remind us of our healing. It is bad to allow what caused you a scar to repeat again, it is also bad to allow your scars cause you to hate and not to forgive.

Decide today to allow your scars remind you of the lessons learnt, God's mercies and goodness and the joy that you came out better, it shouldn't remind you of the hurt, pain and anger.

Let your scars be a source of joy and not pain, it is your decision to make.
