Graduate Trainee Experience (2)

Hope you learnt a thing or more from the last post.

I am so glad to be able to share my story and lessons with you. Today's post as I indicated in the last post is a continuation of my experience during my graduate trainee program.

Before now, I thought I was teachable, but the graduate training made it more obvious that I had so much learning to do.

There is an Igbo proverb that says "a person who ask questions never misses his way".

The importance of asking questions can never be over emphasized, ask questions even when you feel you understand.

Including an experienced person's idea or perspective will bring more clarity to the subject.

The idea that you shouldn't ask questions to avoid been seen as attention seeking is a silly excuse. Ask questions until you gain more insight.

Being teachable involves putting aside what you think you know and becoming humble enough to learn from others even if you believe you know better.

The temptation to always speak so as to appear relevant or knowledgeable can come sometimes, but it is important to fight it in other to avoid loosing out on things that can benefit you.

You don't have to talk, you don't need to prove a point, calm down, don't seek to be known, seek to know, this is what takes you up. Only those who are truly humble (down to earth) will be lifted up.

James 4:10
