Graduate Training Experience (3)

I will end this series with the lesson of being open minded. I have come to understand that I l easily get stuck to a particular way of doing something.

I shared a post sometime ago about being stuck in tradition, you should check it out.

I came to realize after the training that I wasn't as open minded as I thought. I wanted to keep doing things my way, I thought I knew what I was doing but I came to know that I didn't.

What do you think open mindedness really means? I would love to know your thoughts in the comment section.

Being open minded doesn't mean you should push aside your values and principles. It means understanding other people's opinions and values and learning how to balance your options and that of others.

Amazingly, many of us are so religious to the extent we push aside every opinion that comes from someone with a different believe. This is pride, because we are insisting that we are superior to that person.

Most people who aren't open minded are proud people, they see everything they do as the best.

I made this mistake, I felt some of my colleagues were "carnal" hence I shouldn't really go with their idea. A healthy self esteem is not pulling others down but considering everyone to be as important as you are.

As you start any new phase, be open minded, don't go with any superiority mentality if not you won't learn and you will have lots of relationship issues.

Learn new ways of doing things, after all change is constant.
