The Freedom of Openness
It's the eight month of the year already, how time flies so fast. Welcome to August
Sometime ago, I had a conversation with a friend and it was about how he doesn't intend to hide anything from his wife, he said even before marriage, he will deliberately keep her informed about his dealings.
Before now I knew the importance of openness but I understood it better after watching a movie where secrecy ruined a beautiful relationship. The truth makes free, not just the truth of God's word but telling the truth in to our families, friends and in our various relationships.
I once heard someone say "if I cheat, I won't tell my spouse ohh, it will be better no one knows and everyone is happy".
In as much as I understand that cheating should not even be on our minds, it is important to tell any truth you feel your family, friends and partner should know. No one is saying it is easy to share certain details about your life that you aren't proud of, but it is important in other to experience freedom and peace.
There is a freedom you experience even with the consequence of telling the truth. Your peace of mind is more important than any reaction you may get.
Secrecy especially between spouses or people in a relationship, doesn't make anything better. It's only gives room for suspicions and disloyalty.
Remember, it might not be easy but it is important for your peace of mind.
